VoltSense HUB

Map View gives you a live geographic overview of your fleet: every boat appears on a map with a color-coded status icon, so you can see at a glance which boats need attention and where they are.

Note on privacy: boat locations are always set manually by you. For privacy reasons, VoltSense HUB does not use the monitoring device's coordinates. Positions are therefore static markers — their purpose is to help you find a boat quickly or see where it is kept, not to track it in real time.

1. Opening Map View

Click the Map View button in the page header. It is available on every page of VoltSense HUB, including the dashboard.

What you see first depends on how your fleet is organized:

2. Reading the map

Each boat is shown as a colored dot. The colors follow the same logic as the dashboard:

ColorMeaning
RedCritical alert — battery voltage critically low or temperature alarm. Check immediately.
OrangeWarning — battery voltage low, or shore power has been lost.
GreenEverything OK.
GrayManually added boat (no VoltSense monitoring device installed).

Hover over a boat to see its name. Click it to open a card with the boat's state, how fresh the data is, its berth and marina, the battery voltages and temperature, shore power and bilge pump, and buttons to the boat's Telemetry, Maintenance, Details and owner. The owner button opens the owner's phone and e-mail in a separate card — nothing is dialled on a single click.

Show names, Map and Satellite

The Show names checkbox above the map puts a label with the boat's name and berth beside every dot — useful on a crowded pier. Map / Satellite switches between the street map and aerial imagery, which shows the actual piers and berths. Your browser remembers both choices.

The boat list

Beside the map is a list of every boat on it, the most urgent first, with its house-bank voltage, state, berth and how fresh the data is. Hover over a boat in the list to highlight its dot; click it to fly to the boat and open its card. The search box finds a boat by name or berth. Boats without coordinates are listed separately under "Boats without location", each with a Set location link.

3. Setting a boat's location

Open the boat's details page (Boat Info) and click Edit Info. Three fields are available:

Marina

Select which marina/harbor the boat belongs to, or pick Add new marina and type a name to create one on the spot. Boats grouped into marinas get their own map cards on the Map View overview.

Boat location (free text)

A human-readable note about where exactly the boat is — for example B-14 or Winter hall 2, row 3. It is shown beside the boat's name on the map and on the Dashboard, and you can search by it. Tip: write a berth as pier and number (B-14, Kai B-7) — the HUB then knows which boats share a pier and can tell you when a whole pier loses shore power.

Boat location coordinates

The boat's position on the map. Three ways to fill it in:

  1. Choose from map (recommended) — opens a map window. Click where the boat is; a marker appears (you can drag it to fine-tune). Click Use this location to save the coordinates into the form.
  2. Paste — copy coordinates from any source (e.g. Google Maps) in the form 58.3801, 24.4970 and paste them into the Latitude field; both fields fill in automatically.
  3. Type latitude and longitude manually.

The map window opens intelligently: at the boat's current position if it has one, otherwise near your other boats, otherwise at your own location (your browser will ask permission), and as a last resort at a world view.

Use ✖ Clear location to remove the coordinates, then Save.

4. Managing marinas

Go to Account → Marinas to manage your marina list:

Boats that have coordinates but no marina appear in an Unassigned card on the Map View overview, so nothing ever disappears from the map.
